Julianna Heron

Intensive Care Coordinator | Guide Behavioral Health

Julianna Heron brings warmth, curiosity, and a globally informed perspective to her work as Intensive Care Coordinator at Guide Behavioral Health. Born and raised in the Bay Area, she feels deeply connected to the region’s cultural richness and sense of community. Her path into behavioral health was shaped by a growing passion for psychology, trauma healing, and nervous system regulation—fueled by both personal exploration and professional experience.

After earning her BS in Psychology from Tulane University, Julianna spent several years living, working, and traveling abroad, including a transformative year in New Zealand that deepened her connection to nature and mindfulness. She later gained hands-on experience in neurofeedback, where she became especially interested in the role of the nervous system in healing and emotional regulation. This work laid the foundation for her commitment to trauma-informed, body-based approaches to care.

Julianna is currently completing her MA in Psychology at Alliant International University and continues to grow her understanding of trauma recovery, culturally responsive therapy, and adolescent development. In addition to her clinical training, she serves as a Business Development Liaison with the California Association for Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (CALPCC), helping expand access, equity, and connection in the mental health field.

At Guide, Julianna supports teens and young adults with presence, empathy, and cultural humility. She especially values the honesty and resilience adolescents bring to therapy, and approaches each client with deep respect for their lived experience. Whether supporting someone through anxiety, identity development, or life transitions, she helps create a grounded, safe environment where young people can explore and grow at their own pace.

Outside of work, Julianna is often outdoors—hiking, backpacking, surfing, snowboarding, and exploring California’s natural beauty with her husband and close friends. She’s passionate about mindfulness, yoga, and cold therapy as tools for self-regulation and well-being. She has also volunteered in programs supporting children with diverse abilities and is deeply committed to service that centers dignity, inclusion, and care.
