Parenting a teen who’s struggling with anxiety, depression, or school stress can be incredibly challenging. At Guide Behavioral Health, we understand how isolating and confusing it can feel — and we’re here to help. Our 3-hour Parent Skills Workshop is designed to give you the tools, confidence, and support to better navigate your teen’s mental health journey.

Led by licensed clinicians from our treatment team, this one-time class offers practical skills for improving family communication, setting boundaries, and supporting your teen’s emotional growth and academic goals.

This 3-hour class is designed to help you better support your teen’s emotional wellbeing, mental health, and academic success. Whether you’re navigating challenges at home or simply want to build stronger communication with your child, we’re here to help.

Parent Skills Workshops FAQ

  • The workshop is designed to help parents of teens build skills for improving communication, setting healthy boundaries, managing conflict, and supporting their teen’s mental health and academic success. You’ll learn practical tools grounded in evidence-based approaches used in our teen treatment programs.

  • This workshop is open to any parent or caregiver of a teen, whether or not your teen is enrolled at Guide Behavioral Health. If your teen is currently participating in our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) or Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), this class can help you reinforce the skills they’re learning in treatment.

  • The Parent Skills Workshop is a single 3-hour class, but we may offer additional sessions or series in the future depending on parent interest. You can always check our workshops page or contact us directly for the latest updates.

  • We may eventually align the schedule so that parents can attend the workshop while their teen is participating in a concurrent session. At this time, scheduling is subject to availability. Please contact us for the most up-to-date information.

  • All Parent Skills Workshops take place at our Menlo Park treatment center, located in Menlo Park. We serve families throughout Palo Alto, San Mateo County, and the surrounding Bay Area.
