Meet Monica Ow: Your Teen’s Guide to Growth and Resilience
Monica Ow is a dedicated Mental Health Therapist who brings compassion, energy, and authenticity to her work with teens. A proud Bay Area native, Monica’s journey began with a strong support system that inspired her to be a pillar of support for others. She believes that one conversation can change a life, and she’s passionate about helping teens discover their own strengths through mindfulness and self-awareness.
Monica earned her Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Notre Dame de Namur University, where she received the Clinical and Academic Excellence Award. She brings rich experience from her roles as a Wellness Counselor at Menlo Atherton High School and a group leader at the Women’s Enrichment Center, specializing in substance use recovery. She’s also volunteered at San Francisco Suicide Prevention, providing compassionate support through their hotline.
But Monica’s story doesn’t end there. She’s a world traveler who’s rebuilt homes in New Orleans, taught at-risk youth in South Africa, and volunteered with re-entry programs in East Los Angeles. Outside of therapy, you’ll find her embracing life through yoga, dance, meditation, or exploring a tropical beach or woodsy forest. She’s a community builder, an advocate for equity, and loves a good movie—just not horror!
Monica’s warm, client-centered approach makes her a relatable and inspiring therapist. She’s excited to bring her unique background and passion for helping others to Guide Behavioral Health, where she sees her role as helping teens reveal their own inner strengths.
If you’re looking for a therapist who truly gets it, Monica is here to guide your teen through the ups and downs of adolescence with compassion and understanding.
