Administrative Coordinator | Guide Behavioral Health
Miyu Kuboi serves as an Administrative Coordinator at Guide Behavioral Health, where she helps ensure that teens and families feel welcomed, supported, and cared for from the moment they walk through the door. She assists with the day-to-day coordination of the program and supports non-clinical groups within Guide’s teen Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), helping create a structured, positive environment where adolescents can feel comfortable, engaged, and supported throughout their treatment experience.
Born and raised in Menlo Park, Miyu brings a strong connection to the local community that Guide serves. After spending several years living abroad in Hawai‘i, New Zealand, and Japan, she recently returned to the Bay Area with a renewed appreciation for the place she calls home. Her international experiences shaped her perspective and deepened her interest in cultural exchange, community engagement, and working with young people from diverse backgrounds.
Miyu graduated from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and plans to continue her education in the future by pursuing a master’s degree in counseling, with the goal of becoming a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or school counselor. Her interest in the mental health field grew from volunteer work and from seeing firsthand the positive impact counselors can have on students’ lives. Those experiences inspired her to pursue a career focused on supporting the emotional wellbeing of adolescents and young adults.
Before joining Guide Behavioral Health, Miyu worked as an outdoor educator and Natural Resources teacher, where she spent time guiding students through hands-on learning experiences in nature. These roles strengthened her passion for youth development and helped her build skills in creating engaging environments where young people feel curious, confident, and connected. She also cares deeply about environmental education and environmental justice.
At Guide, Miyu especially enjoys working with teens and young adults because of their individuality, creativity, and strong sense of self. She values the opportunity to learn about their interests, hobbies, and perspectives while helping create spaces where they can relax, build connections, and feel supported. Whether facilitating activities such as art projects, yoga, or outdoor time at the park, Miyu enjoys bringing positive energy and moments of fun into the daily rhythm of the program.
Outside of work, Miyu enjoys spending time outdoors, visiting the beach, watching films, and taking photographs with her cameras. She is grateful to be part of the Guide Behavioral Health team and looks forward to continuing to learn from her colleagues, the teens in the program, and the families Guide serves.
